Ass. Dr. Ates Yanyali has worked extensively on the damage caused by diabetes. Scientific studies on diabetic macular edema therapy have been published in journals such as American Journal of Ophthalmology, Retina and European Journal of Ophthalmology.
In 2004, the European VitreoRetinal Society received the best poster award for his work on fluid collection therapy in the vision center (macula disease) due to diabetes.
