Urology:

The Urology Department treats all  male and female urological pathologies and dysfunctions in the fields of oncology, reconstructive surgery, paediatric urology, lithiasis, functional disorders.

The Urology Department is also engaged in delivering innovation in a range of surgical techniques: endoscopy, laparoscopy, robotics, shock wave therapy, cryotherapy, brachytherapy and percutaneous approaches.

We have always favored the use of minimally invasive surgery. This started with urologic endoscopy in the 1970s, followed by shock wave extracorporeal lithotripsy in the 1980s, laparoscopy in the 1990s and, most recently, robotic surgery – in 2005 Fundació Puigvert became the first Spanish centre to acquire the Da Vinci robot.

Nephrology

Fundació Puigvert is a referral centre for hereditary renal diseases, systemic nephropathies and hypertension.
